Medium is giving me insomnia, and that’s OK

It’s 3.51AM and I’ve been rolling in my bed, unable to fall asleep for over an hour now. “You have a 9.30AM video conference call,” my wide-awake brain reminds me.

Yeah, yeah.

My eyelids are shut. But my eyeballs are rolling about in their sockets. Also, my neurons are firing in all directions. I turn to the left, hugging my pillow, attempting to find that perfect foetal position so I can relax, fall asleep.

Oh no. It’s not working.

I’m thinking.

I’m pondering.

I’m thinking about the next article I’m about to write. I have a couple of ideas running in my head right now but I need to sleep. You know, 9.30AM call?

So yeah, that outline of the article? Yes, I think I’ve got it.

It’s your fault. Damn you, Medium.

You see, I’ve been reading Medium a lot lately and have started to also write more on the platform, aside from posting on my main website — vernonchan.com. And this means writing original, Medium-first content, and not repostings of existing material.

Medium has inspired me to write more. Write anything. Write anytime.
